Chinese wedding wardrobe in red lacquer with landscape decoration

This elegant antique Chinese wardrobe seduces with its deep red lacquer, patinated by time, whose surface still reveals delicate decorations painted in gold. Villages, pagodas, bridges, trees and figures compose a poetic landscape inspired by the scholars’ gardens of imperial China.

Its sober base and harmonious proportions bear witness to the know-how of Chinese artisans of the late 19th century. The sides, deliberately left in a dark tone, set off the richness of the frontal decoration and reinforce its sculptural presence.

Inside, this wardrobe offers generous storage while keeping its authentic character. Every mark of wear, every craquelure of the lacquer tells a story and takes part in its unique charm.

More than a piece of furniture, this piece is an invitation to travel. It brings to a contemporary interior a touch of warmth, exoticism and timeless elegance.
