Wardrobe with antique Chinese lattice and carved panels

This elegant wardrobe harmoniously combines a made-to-measure contemporary structure with genuine antique Chinese lattice screens and authentic antique carved panels, giving a second life to these remarkable elements of traditional architecture.

The doors are composed of antique lattice with openwork geometric motifs, once integrated into scholars’ houses. Their refined design creates a subtle play of light and transparency, allowing objects to be displayed while preserving a degree of visual privacy.

The lower section is ornamented with bas-relief carved panels representing figures moving through a floral setting. These delicate scenes evoke the cultural and artistic richness of imperial China. Their antique patinas, preserved over time, contrast elegantly with the sobriety of the contemporary structure.

Conceived as a bookcase, display or curiosity cabinet, this piece holds porcelain, books and art objects as readily as personal treasures. It combines the functionality of today’s furniture with the soul and authenticity of elements several times a century old.

Between heritage and creation, this wardrobe is a successful meeting of antique Chinese architecture and contemporary design. A unique piece that brings character, history and elegance to any interior.
