About this piece

Tibetan ritual vase in brass and repoussé metal

This Tibetan vase seduces with its generous silhouette and golden glow, heightened by a beautiful patina of time.
Its brass body is paced by silvered-metal medallions in repoussé, finely worked with Buddhist and floral motifs.
The slender neck, ending in a wide flared opening, takes up the form of vases traditionally associated with Tibetan ritual offerings.
Around the shoulder and foot, relief friezes evoke lotus petals, a symbol of purity in Buddhism.
The contrast between the golden metal and the silvered decoration gives it a particularly rich decorative presence.
Marks of use and small oxidations fully belong to its character.
A piece at once spiritual, sculptural and decorative, enough on its own in a contemporary interior.
