Tall antique Shanxi sideboard – original red lacquer
This tall antique Shanxi sideboard asserts its presence with generous proportions and a powerful silhouette.
Its remarkable original dark-red lacquer, patinated by time, lets deep brown and earthy tones show through.
A red almost weeping over the brown, which gives every part of the piece a unique depth.
The two doors are ornamented with fine brass fittings and an elegant cut central plate.
The overhanging top and carved details reinforce its architectural character.
Inside, a wide shelf offers generous storage.
Wear, craquelure and shifts in tone are precious witnesses to its history.
An exceptional original patina that only the passage of time can create.
An antique sideboard with a strong presence, as beautiful in a contemporary interior as among other carefully chosen pieces.
